Tuesday

We started out this morning reading Acts 1.  We are going to reap one chapter every day and finish the book this month ... so exciting for the kids to think about reading an entire book of the Bible before February!  Each day, I'm going to ask the Princess to narrate a sentence or few for me about our devotion and record it here.

• Princess: Jesus went up to heaven and then Matthew, Luke, John, Peter, and the others prayed.  When the disciples prayed and when they heard about what happened to Judas, they looked for a new disciple and it was Matthias.  

We also started learning the books of the New Testament, using a song I learned back in 2nd or 3rd grade.  Today we got down "The first 4 books that come along are Matthew, Mark, and Luke and John.  Then come Acts and Romans, too - yes, the first 6 books are easy to do!"

Princess:

• Bible: CBS; Read Acts 1; Memorize 1st 6 books of New Testament
• Reading: Little House on the Prairie, ch 11-15 and Fairy Tales Ballet
• Science: reviewed all definitions from yesterday (knew verbatim! constellation, universe, astronomy, astronomer)
• Math: reviewed last semester's math and took several unit tests; completed (with 100%) unit tests 1-8 in MUS Alpha

Lil Man:

• Bible: Read along with Acts 1; Memorize 1st 6 books of New Testament
• Reading: part of 3 Hens & a Peacock (new word: eventually)
• Science: reviewed yesterday; knew most definitions and was able to repeat back several pieces of trivia (knew 3 out of 4 definitions verbatim!)
• Spelling: spelling bee drills
• Math: math review (oral addition)
